Due to band issues and logistics of find another band with appropriate amount of rehearsal time with the contestants the Country Showdown Kansas Final has been rescheduled for late September 2017. More details to follow with time and location. In place of the showdown at the Northwest Kansas District Free Fair Brock Wagoner will be in concert, Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 7:30 pm MT on the midway.
It has been brought to the Northwest Kansas District Free Fair Board’s attention that the maximum weight on market sheep is incorrect in the printed 2017 Fair Book. The typo error was made during the transition. The book should state and will apply for this year a weight limit of 90-165 Pounds for both Open Class and 4-H Market Sheep.
It has been brought to the Northwest Kansas District Free Fair Board’s attention that the following description was left out of the printed 2017 Fair Book on 4-H Foods Age 7-18 - Food Gift Package and or Specialty Food Product class (Class # 41606). The typo error was made during the transition.
"No alcoholic beverages will be accepted. A food gift package must contain at least 3 different non-perishable food items, prepared (not purchased) by the 4-H'er, in a suitable container no larger than 18" x 18" x 18". Prepared food items must have recipes attached with the entry. On the back of the entry card, answer these questions: a) what is the intended use; b) what food safety precautions were taken during and after preparation."
The Northwest Kansas District Free Fair purchased a new program to track entries at the County Fair. Also, the fair book has been updated with a new look, to go with the FairEntry program. We hope that this will be a smooth process and ask that you please be patient in this transition. Open Class Division
No changes for this year to the entry process. Exhibitors will still need to come and get an exhibitor number during fair week at the Fair Office. Yellow entry tags will be available at the extension office and can be attached prior to fair or at entry time. Some Open Class departments require pre-entry please report those to the Extension office (785-890-4880). Please refer to the 2017 Fair Book for rules, classes, and entry schedule.

Starting with the 2017 Northwest Kansas District Free Fair (Saturday, July 29th – Saturday, August 5th, 2017) the Fair Board will be reserving spots in the RV park via an application process. Please fill out the application and send back. RV park spaces will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. NWKDFF reserves the right to assign space location, and will consider the preference, if any, of the lessee. Application are being accepted now. RV park opens at 12:00 pm MT (Noon) on the Friday, July 28th, 2017 prior to fair week (period stated above). Cost of a RV park space is $125.00 for the period stated above. For future years, the lessee with have first opportunity at their current spot.
